vCard QR code generator

The business card that can't be lost in a coat pocket. Scan it, and your contact is in their phone — spelled correctly, because nobody typed it.

Tip: shorter URLs make simpler, easier-to-scan codes. If you leave off the scheme, https:// is added.

Anyone who scans this code can see the password — print it only where your guests should have it.

Generated 100% in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

What gets encoded: a standard vCard 3.0 record — the same format phones have used for contacts for decades. The preview under the code shows the exact text: BEGIN:VCARD, your name split into family/given name, organisation, title, phone, email and URL, then END:VCARD. Every field is optional except the name; leave a field blank and it's simply left out of the card.

Where vCard codes earn their keep

On the back of a printed business card, on a conference badge or booth banner, on a shop counter ("add us to your phone"), or in an email signature image. Because the code is static, the card you print today still works at a trade show three years from now — as long as your phone number and email stay the same. If your number changes, reprint; a static code can't be edited (that trade-off is explained on the static vs dynamic page).

Keep it scannable

A vCard carries more data than a short URL, so the pattern is denser. Print it a touch bigger than a URL code — 3 cm (1.2 in) or more for hand-held scanning — and prefer error correction Q. Full sizing guidance is on the print sizes page.

Frequently asked questions

Which phones can read vCard codes?

Virtually all of them. iOS and Android both offer "Add to contacts" when the camera sees a vCard payload — no third-party app involved.

Can I add a photo or address?

The standard allows them, but photos make codes extremely dense and addresses are rarely worth the scan difficulty. This generator sticks to the fields people actually save: name, phone, email, company, title, website.

Is my contact information uploaded?

No — the card is built and drawn locally in your browser. The payload preview shows the complete record, so you can check it before downloading.
